JUST THE BASICS
Name: Ian Elijah Gallagher
Nicknames: Some of his professors call him Gallagher, but other than that, he's always hated nicknames.
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Birthday: September 28, 1992
Birthplace: Chicago
Class/Year: Senior
Sexuality: Straight
BEAUTIFUL AND INDIVIDUAL
Hair: He has shaggy dirty blond hair that curls to his ears, never styled and cut in a simple, understated fashion.
Eyes: Thick eyebrows furl over his green and grey sea glass eyes, giving him a heavy, serious brow that doesn't seem to match the knowing, lighthearted curve of his squarish lips.
Body: Ian has a very average height and an athletic build. He has the strong arms and legs of the avid baseball player he once was, muscle rippling beneath his light, prone to sunburn skin. He has a softer midsection, never one to be caught doing thousands of crunches at the gym or even bothering with a six pack.
Height 5'11
Weight 182 lb
Extras Slightly ruddy cheeks on pale Irish skin stand out above his strong jaw, often covered by a few days unshaven shadow of a beard slightly darker than his hair. His nose is narrow and proportionate to his face, although slightly crooked to the left for the baseball that broke it when he was a kid. His head is supported by a thick neck and strong, broad shoulders.
A t-shirt and blue jeans are usually enough to suit his 'style', although he has been known to throw on a dress shirt and slacks for special occasions. He doesn't care too much for his appearance, never bothering to follow the trends or even the 'anti-trends'. When riding his motorcycle, he wears a brown leather jacket, thick jeans, work boots, gloves, and a helmet if he's not feeling reckless. He stands leaning onto one leg, hands shoved in his jean pockets when he's not smoking a cigarette, relaxed and utterly calm, bored, as if he doesn't have a care in the world.
INSIDE AND OUT
Likes: More than anything else in the world, he loves his Harley Davidson Night Train, a luxury he couldn't afford before moving in with his aunt. He's become somewhat of a chain smoker, and likes to smoke several cigarettes in a row when he's feeling tense. Ian also has developed a strange fondness for philosophy, especially since the move, pouring over lengthy volumes on existentialism and the nature of reality. He also secretly loves to play his banjo. Why banjo? Because he was tired of all the idiots trying to impress girls by learned guitar. Most of all, he loves the picture of Ryleigh he carries in his wallet.
Dislikes: Oddly as it may seem, Ian absolutely despises the taste of mint, to the point that he feels like he is going to sick up if he tastes it. Although he loves to smoke, he hates his addiction to cigarettes; He feels weak for not be able to, and not even wanting to break it. He really dislikes people who try to fit in to cliques, which is one of the reasons he feels so out of place at Starlight Academy. Trends, anti-trends, an everything in between are for people who don't know who they are, by his book. His really dislikes guys who wear girl pants. What the hell is up with that? Most of all, he hates who he has become, and that he has no idea how to change it.
Flaws: Although Ian has already had sex with more girls than he can remember, he's never become attached enough to anyone to be in a relationship. He is terrified of forming a healthy relationship, because he doesn't want to be hurt again. He is also extremely reckless, never looking out for his own well being, and usually ignoring the well being of others as well. Driving consistently 20 miles per hour over the speed limit is just the tip of the iceberg. Lastly, is his disillusionment with life. He has essentially... lost all hope and faith in this life, and is just skimming through life at the moment, hardly even trying to make something of himself. The happy, carefree boy he once was seems lost to his current state of perpetual depression.
Strengths: Ian's greatest strength and greatest weakness are one in the same; His mind. He is exceptionally intelligent, gifted by many tests, and while it is great to be intelligent, it is in no way easy. He is extremely aware of
Weaknesses: 3+
Personality Overall:
Ian is an easygoing kind of guy, despite his past, generally laid back and just living life for a couple of cheap thrills and laughs. Although hard to get to know because of his stand-offish personality, he's a guy who doesn't take good friendships lightly. Although not one to get gushy around his group of friends, he's absolutely loyal to every single on of them and just doesn't take any insults about them. Although a relaxed guy, he is rash and quick to anger with the right amount of provocation and can change from calm to clenched-fists in a second. He lives life to live it, in the best sense of the phrase.
Ian will try anything once, whether it's a questionable food or a thrill like sky-diving, he lives for the moment, like he could die the next day. He's not exactly the charming type, and has no poetic way for words. He's very much your typical guy when it comes to romance, generally clueless but with noble intentions. He's never really fallen in love before, but does desire a partner to spend the rest of his life with, someone crazy enough to live life to the fullest like himself, someone to come home to at the end of the day. He is also like any typical teenage guy, with a sex drive he's looking to satisfy, and he's not ashamed to admit it.
As Ian dreams of becoming a Navy pilot someday, flying airplanes is his life's passion. He also loves, like any other straight guy, girls, girls, girls, even if he's never been in a real relationship. Although he likes his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and baseball, he's also unashamed to admit that he's a huge nerd; He's seen every Star Wars movie at least ten times, reads sci-fi for fun, and would rather spend time on a really difficult math problem than watch some (crappy, by his words) MTV show like many teenagers. In fact, it's acting like most teenagers his age which he dislikes most. He hates conformists and "non-conformists" alike: They're both groups of people desperately trying to be trendy, even if it is opposite trends that they follow. Ian lives his life giving 'trendiness' the finger, dressing in what's comfortable and practical and listening to the music he likes.
On the positive side, Ian is extremely bright, with a quick, utterly logical mind. He's also generally motivated to finish what he starts, and hates to do anything halfheartedly. At his best, he's a fairly normal guy with only good intentions, if very rough around the edges. However, at his worst, Ian is extremely stubborn, refusing to budge even when he's obviously wrong about something and digs his heels in further the more he is harassed about it. He is absolutely brutally honest to people he doesn't care about, and completely impatient with people he deems less intelligent than himself. Sometimes he can be intentionally rebellious just because he gets a high off of doing dangerous things, such as driving 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, and other times he is rash and rushes into decisions that get him in trouble or hurt other people, decisions he regrets later.
His biggest vice, however, is that he completely internalizes his problems and his pain. Since the move, he hasn't opened up to anyone about his family, or his addictions, and has absolutely no intention of doing so. Like a festering sore, all the evil and sadness in his life he traps inside of him, until it ruptures quite suddenly and violently. The laid back, happy individual he once was is trapped beneath a grim, pessimistic and oft violent visage, and he feels he has no hope of ever truly opening up to anyone again.
