I blushed at his compliment. He seemed elated for me to be here with him. I wish I felt the same... But instead I felt uncomfortable and on edge. Which wasn't usually how I felt. I was usually quite confident, but when I'm around Jay, it fades, and I'm the shy girl. Which, to me, seems really weird. Jay looked into my eyes, and I felt a rush of shock, so I broke the moment and looked away towards the bar. Calm down and relax, I told myself, it's for one night, and that's all. I blinked and looked back at Jay with a smile. Thanks, I grinned briefly, and then went back to being shy again... Ahem, confidence, Elizabeth. I almost hissed aloud.
Then he asked me if I wanted a drink, I wasn't exactly thirsty but I went along with it anyway, cringing at the thought of Jay embarrassing me in some way. He couldn't help it, it was in his blood... When we reached the bar, I noticed something a bit strange going on. Jay seemed to be avoiding the barmaid... Okay, I'm not stupid... When Jay came here last time, he completely failed with the girl, right? I glared at him, hoping he wouldn't notice. Then Jay pointed somewhere, and the barmaid went off, shaking her hips. Slag, I thought with a smile. That smile faded when I saw what she was getting him. An alcoholic drink. I felt my eyes changing to so many different colours before the turned - again - blazing red.
I banged my right hand down on the wooden surface in front of us and turned to Jay, furious. I knew this was a bad idea.
That is it, Jay, are you stupid?! I told you the other day not to do anything stupid, so what do you go and do? Buy an alcoholic drink? I don't think so, I'm leaving. I knew this whole thing would be a disaster!
I pushed myself away from the bar and headed back to the stairs, there's no point in killing what was meant to be a good night now is there? Maybe I could go to my friend's house, and we could have a laugh...
I brought myself back to what just happened. He did say that I was a joke to me, but he was drunk, so I thought afterwards he would be fine but no, I really was a joke wasn't I? How could I be so stupid to say yes to coming here with him?

"Oh, trust me, I'm a master at freaking people out." Megan laughed. "Trust me, if you tell someone you write yaoi in America, you are officially off your rocker." She turned to look at the barmaid, shrugging. "Huh, I guess I don't know my own strength." Turning back to the girl she just defended, she smirked, letting her innocent face fall. "I'm new around here. Is there anyone besides bitchy over there that I should worry about?" she flipped her straight back hair over her shoulder, rolling her eyes. "Hell knows I wouldn't want to get in a cat fight. Oh, that would just be horrid!"I listened to her, but I just had no idea what she said. I bit my lip, looking at the floor. What should I say to her now? Maybe I should just stay quiet for now. Then she turned back to the barmaid, shrugging, saying that maybe she didn't know her own strength. I smiled, how could you not know your own strength? Maybe she was usually a non-violent girl. Meh, a lot of people are like that, but not me, I have three things to murder people with. My poison, guns and wolf. Haha, nobody else has a wolf but moi. A hyper feeling went straight through me and I breathed in sharply. Then I laughed out loud like an idiot... Which I don't do often. I put my hand over my mouth to stop myself. This was even stranger than not knowing your strength; not knowing your own laugh. I don't laugh out loud a lot unless I'm really happy.
Then she asked me if there was anyone else she should worry about apart from the bitchy barmaid. I went back to my normal self.
Not that I know of. I replied, looking back to the bar, I think you should go somewhere else and hide, too, it seems like I wasn't the only one watching you with that ice cube.
It wasn't like I wanted her to leave, but a muscular man was heading out asking people questions and pointing to the hurt barmaid. I turned my attention to the stage and Keith was looking at me. I smiled and waved at him. He should be starting his first song soon, at least my night would go off to a good start, because I'll be plugging my ears when James starts.
Hmph... I hate that kind of music.

Jay looked at the drink in his hand and dropped it onto the counter, and some of it splashed out. He glared at the barmaid, wishing it was her fault that Elizabeth had left him. He speed walked over too her, grabbing her hand in his and looking at her with sober eyes. "I wasn't going to get drunk... I swear. I wouldn't... not after what happed last time." He said, wishing he could say that there wasn't anything to worry about because it wasn't the first time he had drank anything under aged, but no matter how he said that it would come out very wrong.
When he got a good look at her eyes, he gasped, a sharp intake of breath. They were red. Were they like that when he was drunk? Most likely, he had been acting like a prick. He was paralized for a moment, but insted of looking at her eyes, he fixed his hazel gaze on the blue corset of the dress. "Elizabeth, please... Beleive me." He said.

Megan turned to look at the bouncer, talking to people. "Shit..." She shrugged softly. "Eh, I'm an honors student, I can afford to get in trouble once. Besides, I'm pretty good at lying." She held up her pinky, smiling. "No tellin', kay? ...Wait, did I just try to pinky swear? What am I, four?" She put her hand down on the table. Her green and brown eyes turned to Keith's band playing, and she rolled them. "Showoff!" "So Kiara, what are your hobbies?" She offered. "I personally love writing, cooking, and studying psycology."

{ once his gaze had flickered over kiara, he smiled a little once the wolf girl - his nickname for her - waved at him. he then realised that jay was over the bar, ordering an alchoholic drink, and elizabeth suddenly walked off. the other jock went after her, and keith raised an eyebrow ever so slightly. it was tempting to keep watching, but he had a job to do here. as his suddenly darker shaded turquoise eyes went back to kiara, he could hear the girl beside his friend say 'showoff'. immediately keith flipped her off, though with a joking, almost charming smile on his face. then he turned around to his band and nodded. yeah, they were gonna start...
{ immediately he heard a few light noises from the drums, and the guitars being strummed. after about twenty seconds, keith went to the normal mic and sung into it, his gaze sort of narrowed down at the floor. "[♪] no time for goodbye, he said, as he faded away [♪]," as he sang, his voice was soft but loud, "[♪] don't put your life in, someone's hands, they're bound to steal it away. don't hide your mistakes 'cause they'll find you, burn you, then he said [♪]," the music changed ever so slightly, and keith's singing was a bit louder now, and as he sung the chorus he could hear jun's voice behind him, creating a sort of echo. "[♪] if you wanna get out alive, ohh-oh run for your life. if you wanna get out alive, ohh-oh run for your life... [♪]" after the first chorus, the music continued but keith stopped. the music was a bit louder, and it continued without him for about... ten, twenty seconds before he sung again. and at the end of the first chorus, keith had started to play his guitar, with some slight pauses.
{ "[♪] this is my last time, she said, as she faded away. it's hard to imagine, but one day you'll end up like me then she said [♪]," chorus again, and this time keith's dark turquoise eyes were fixed on everyone else rather than the floor, "[♪] if you wanna get out alive, ohh-oh run for your life, if you wanna get out alive, ohh-oh run for life-" the music got ever so slightly harder, with him playing his guitar at with harder dynamics, "- if you wanna get out alive-" the blonde haired jock heard jun's voice in the background, saying "if you wanna get out aliivee", and on the last word of jun's singing keith continued, "[♪] ohh-oh run for your life. if you wanna get out alive (jun: "if you wanna get out alive!"), ohh-oh run for your lifee [♪]." now the song was slightly more rock, keith pulled away from the (normal) mic, and after a few drum sounds, the jock started playing his guitar loudly, and the music got louder, more of their genre. keith moved across the stage to the left and right a bit, smiling a bit - oh how he loved this. the fifteen year old went back to the mics, this time ready to sing into his voice distortion mic, as the music slowed down a little and got a bit quieter.
NOTES} decided to break the song down in half for this, and that will happen with each of the songs keith is singing. if you could please listen to get out alive (live|cd) then the part in this post is 0:00 to 2:33 [or 2:35 in the cd's case, no pun intended]. thanks!
also, what is it about cheese that makes the majority of us love it so much? >>
p.s. the [♪] things are to signal that keith is singing, and they usually enclose the singing. however if i put a -" at the end of something, that means that i'm just going to note something in between lyrics or something, and then start the rest of the lyrics with "- and without the [♪]s. hopefully you catch my drift... xD

Megan smirked as she watched the band start, right after Keith flipped her off; she knew he didn't mean it. Not many people would purposfully flip her off if they didn't have a death wish. She closed her eyes, letting herself get lost in the music, but still staying alert to Kiara in case she decided to answer any of her questions. She didn't mind the fact that Kiara was quiet, a lot of the times she could be too. Sometimes, she got herself so worked up over what others would think; everything was thought over carefully in her head to make sure it didn't sound stupid. Growing up with a genius for a brother always put her in the shadow. Luckily, she was known as the creative one in the family. And the troublemaker. But what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them...

Why do I have to be me right now? I hate it! I hate everything about me! Jay loves me, but all I ever do is break his heart... Over and over and over... I get his hopes up but then I let him down again. I'm such a cruel child, even when I try to be nice. But this is it, isn't it? I'll never the the girl I always wanted to be, and now I realize that I'll have to accept who I am. Tonight was my only chance to express myself through song, and I'm leaving. I'm such an idiot... A line suddenly popped into my mind, 'I turn away, knowing my heart could break, I'm so afraid to fall and surrender, I'm not brave, I'm not brave...' No. I had to prove myself wrong. I slowed down a bit, still wondering if I should leave the dance altogether or be brave and stay.
I was suddenly jerked backwards by my hand and I gasped. I knew it was Jay, who else would care? He told me he wasn't going to get drunk, which really annoyed me. I pulled my hand away from his sharply and glared up at him. Who did he think I was, anyway? Some kind of...
I snapped out of my thoughts suddenly when he gasped. I stepped backwards, and realized he was looking at my eyes. Oh no! I forgot they had changed colour... I put my hands over my eyes and pressed my fingers against them. Change back, change back! I silently hissed at myself. I hated it when people saw me like this. My Mum was the first person to see when I lived back in England. I was seven years old, and my first pet had just died, and my eyes went black when I was crying. My Mum hugged me and then realized the colour... She backed away from me, and I was like 'what's up, Mum?'
I felt them slowly changing back to icy blue, so I uncovered my eyes, then Jay said 'believe me', so I sighed. Should I? I looked at the stage, where Keith was now singing. This was now my distraction. He had quite an okay voice actually... Better than I thought he would be.
I don't know, Jay. I sighed, not looking away from the stage.

I smiled at Megan when she swore. She didn't seem like a troublemaker really, she looked more of a shy background girl who was always good, and when she didn't feel like being the good girl, she caused trouble but still nobody realized. Seriously, she didn't have to act any different because she threw an ice cube, she could have done a lot worse if she tried. I went back to my seat after Keith smiled back, and then I heard Megan shout 'show off'. I looked at Keith and then Megan and laughed. She'd better not push her luck, she didn't know Keith had a knife on him, though I knew he wouldn't do anything to her... Or would he?
Hey, you can't say that, I grinned, I think he was forced to do this anyway... Pause, Sit down, if you want.
She asked me what my hobbies were. I sat thinking for a minute, I never really think about what I do, I just do it... If you get what I mean. I do think before I speak, I just act quickly. So, what were my hobbies? Ehm... Well I liked to run around in the woods with Fang, I liked to write songs and... Sing. Should I mention that I had a wolf? Nah, she'd not believe me.
Well, I like to write songs, which obviously means I like to sing and... I like to run around in the woods with... My... Si-... -berian... Husky? Yeah, I like to run around in the woods with my Siberian Husky. She's very... Big. I hoped she was so lost in the music that she didn't notice my quick thinking about the 'Siberian Husky' which was really a wolf.
I looked at the stage, I really liked this music, it was really... Awesome. Better than what I can do, anyway... ooc ;;My... Si-... -berian... Husky? xDD

James and his band were backstage, snickering about Keith's kind of music and how he was going to suck the life from the room. They were drinking, getting high, all underaged. Happy to be together again, just like back in Liverpool. James took the little strips of paper out of his pocket and threw some at his band mates. None of them questioned it, their faces just lite up when he tossed them. It was their acid, their drugs, their perfered way of getting high. It was their insparation for songs. They all popped the little paper bits into their mouths, then began to enjoy the same hallucination. Only this time, James had a different setting that his acid-tripping eyes laid out for him. Strawberry Feilds Forever.

' Well, if she likes light activities like singing and taking runs, she's probably a bit dreamy, and she has a big dog, so she most likely uses it for more than just a pet. A work dog? A hunting dog maybe? Hmm, I guess I could be wrong, but she seems carefree, quiet, and hardworking...great! Just the kind of friend I need."I tried writing songs before," she chuckled softly. "They ended up sounding pretty good at first but by the end it would just be a repeatative peice of bull." She laughed out loud in spite of herself. "I think I'd better stick to writing stories. So do play any instruments? I play baritone, clarionet, trombone, and even tuba sometimes." She took a pack of Juicy Fruit out of her pocket, popping a strip in her mouth. "Want some?"

{ as soon as he went back to the mics, keith flicked his tongue along his teeth, eyes narrowing ever so slightly, watching everyone as he sung more of 'get out alive'. "~♪ if you wanna get out alive, ohh-oh run for your life! if you wanna get out alive, ohhh-oh run forrrrrrr!! ♪~" the special mic made keith's voice sort of muted, and added a sort of distortion to his voice. as soon as he held the 'for' for a while (while playing his guitar at the same time), the music changed a little, and he suddenly switched to the other mic, playing his electric guitar as he sung. "~♪ if you wanna get out alive, oh-oh run for your life, if you wanna get out alive, ohh-oh run for your lifee. if you wanna get out alive, ohh-oh run forrrrrr! ♪~ keith almost growled when he was singing, and he had no idea. his dark turquoise eyes flickered over to george while he sung the next part of the song, sort of wondering why his voice went to a growl.
{ "~♪ if i stay, it won't be long, 'till i'm burnin' on the inside. if i go, i can only hope, that i'll make it to the other side, if i stay, it won't be long 'till i'm burning on the inside -" while he sung, keith kept playing his guitar, and his mouth was by the normal mic, and he knew that he was going to have to take his special mic with him, just in case james' band fucked it up or something, "- if i go, if i gooooooo!!!" the song got a little heavier, like the middle of the song, and keith played his electric guitar before he sung into the normal mic again. "~♪ burning on the insiiiide. burning on the insideee, burning on the insiiiiiideeee! ♪~" there was a few notes from one of the guitarists as keith let out a breath of air, and he heard the drums signalling the end of the song. keith blinked a few times, pulling his hands away from his guitar and picked up his special, distortion mic. no way was he leaving it there...
{ the jock grinned to himself. that wasn't so bad, but the nervous feeling in his body was making him feel sort of... dizzy. keith muttered to himself, swaying a little as he picked up his mic and moved towards the backstage, before he stumbled again. immediately he was steadied by jun, and he jumped a little before relaxing. he forgot that the drummer was quick on his feet... keith, steadied by jun, started making his way backstage again, still holding the mic, and its mic stand. "james-san, your turn..." keith mumbled, almost shoving past the peppy musician as he headed towards the area his band occupied earlier.
NOTES} james-san?! don't ask lol.

James almost yelled 'Oh, shit.' But Mike defently beat him to it, cursing the loudest. James shoved the rest of the acid in his coat pocket. James grabbed his bass, Mike his acoustic, and Alex his electric, Jason grabbing his sticks. The bounced out onto the stage, keeping up they're peppy image.
"Alright," Mike said, a bit too giddily. "Lets see if you can guess how many of these songs we wrote when we were high!" James laughed, a bit too loud. "Alright," James said. Did Liverpudlians have a problem with saying 'Alright'? "We're going to play a song called 'I saw her Standing There', but before we do, I want to tell you guys something." James sighed, looking over at his band-mates.
"I just want to say thank you to everyone out there who is supporting our band, listening to our stuff, comeing by my room to hear us play on weekends. Thank you to the music department, but most of all," James paused, looking at his band, "Thank you to my Liverpudling friends for comeing out tonight and playing these songs with me. I wouldn't want to belt them out without you."
Then, looking out into the crowd, noticing some of them plugging their ears. "And also, before we go on, not all of our songs are sappy and lovey-dovy, so please, give us a chance." James looked at Mike, then stepped up to his mic.
Shouting a loud, fast, "One, two, three, FAH!" James danced around a bit, while Jason and Alex took their solos, before breaking in unexpectedly with giddy horniness, "~ Well she was just seventeen," He yowled into the mic, "~Yeah, you know, what I mean. And the way she looked, was way beond compair! So she wouldn't dance with another!" James danced to the mic, squeeling a sharp, "Wooo!" into the mic. "~ When I saw her standing there!" James can't resist screaming for joy when Alex breaks into another guirtar solo, saying, "Take it, Alex! Take it! Come on, YOW!" James broke into a bass solo now, tredding over Jason's beat. "~Well she looked at me, and I, I could see, That before too long I'd fall in love with her. She wouldn't dance with another," James shouted another 'WOOO!' into the mic.
"~ When I saw her standing there!" James screamed again for joy. The music stopped all together, now, but the song wasn't over. Jason was still tapping on the drum.

I shrugged at the first thing she said, Well, anyway, I don't know, nobody knows what's going through his head but himself.
She seemed to be analysing my hobbies, trying to figure me out. Well, I'm never the same, I change daily, and today, I was feeling better than usual, it kept building over the past few days. A lot of things have happened over the past few days... Which was weird. Usually my life was repetitive and boring, not any more! I listened to Megan as she told me about her experience with writing songs. I suddenly flashed back to the other night, remembering some of the advice I was given by Keith. My eyes flickered back to the stage, the music got louder and I smiled a little bit more than I already was. This music I can live with, I couldn't help but think about it's end - then it would be James's turn. Ugh... It can't get any worse than that...
I was told by someone that repetition in songs is good. I try not to use too much though - or yes, it will get boring.
She offered me some Juicy Fruit, but I shook my head and said, 'no thanks'. I wasn't fond of chewing gum... I found it a bit sickly. I wrinkled my nose a bit at the thought, but set a straight face again soon after. I watched Keith perform the end of his song, but he didn't look that great any more. Was the pressure getting to him? After his last line, he breathed out rather sharply. I tensed a little, gripping the edge of the table with my nails. Don't fall off the stage. I thought with my eyes closed. When I reopened them he was swaying a bit, picking up his mic and going backstage. I rested my elbow on the table and put my hand over my right eye, watching him through the gaps in my fingers. He's not going to make it across without falling... I thought. I was almost right, he did trip, but one of the guys caught him. Christ, I hope he's alright.
He then got off the stage, but I felt a bit funny afterwards. I moved my hand away from my eye just to see James's soppy band coming onto the stage. I rolled my eyes, feeling very annoyed, even though they hadn't started yet. I plugged my ears, glaring at the only one I 'knew' - James. He seemed to notice, asking those who were plugging their ears to give his band a chance. Not likely! I laughed again and looked back at Megan. I almost forgot she was here.
I'm plugging my ears because I can't stand this type of music. I grinned, my eyes glittering.

I was slightly eavsdropping on Kiara, and I saw her covering her ears and say something about James' music. "Hey, shuttup." I rasped, having one too many drinks. I swayed a bit, and giggled, knowing I was underaged, but had stole them anyway.

Jay heard the songs switch in the background. Looking at Elizabeth - her eyes were turned back, so it didn't tottaly freak him out - then looking back at the bar, he walked over to the bar, grabbed the drink, and dumped it rather agressivally into the trash. Oh his way back over to Elizabeth he glared at the barmaid, giving her the finger behind his back, rather publically. Looking at Elizabeth with his eyebrows raised, he asked, "Do you beleive me now?"
How could she not, after that display? Jay wanted to laugh. It was so unlike him to lose his temper. But that hadn't really been a lose of temper, part of it he had done out of pure humor. The rest was a burning desire to make Elizabeth beleive him, not wanting to fall out with her again.
